]]> Bedarra has switched over to our new solar power system from today!

The plant is already generating siginficant power from the PV cells, far in excess of our current power consumption..

Our next stage is to replace all electrical fittings with low power alternatives and a complete refit of LED lighting and the removal of redundant electrical infrastructure.

]]> The first section of our 30KW array of solar panels were installed today. The balance of the panels will be installed by the end of the week. Inverters, controllers and battery banks will be installed over the next fortnight with the aim of converting over to our new off-grid system for 100% of our power requirements by mid August.

]]> The last of the old 185Kva diesel generators were sent back to the mainland from Bedarra Island Resort today. These generators each used approximately 300 litres of diesel fuel per day when running at full capacity. Installation of the new off-grid solar power system at Bedarra is expected within the next month.
